When visiting the sick or treating stings, the Prophet ﷺ supplicated using Allah's exalted names while actively seeking medical remedies. In toxic stings or severe illnesses, seeking immediate emergency hospital care is an explicit Islamic obligation.
Sahih al-Bukhari Sahih
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ، اشْفِهِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Translation (EN)
O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and heal him, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.
How to Perform / When to Recite
Place the right hand over the affected area or the patient's forehead and recite with humbleness: 'Allahumma Rabban-nas, adhhibil-ba's, ishfihi wa Antash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uk, shifa'an la yughadiru saqama'. Concurrently, obtain prompt medical treatment and prescribed medication.
