Quranic Ruqyah to Break and Protect from Black Magic (Sihr)

Explicitly established in Quran or Sahih Hadith as ruqyah/protection for this exact matter.

Magic (Sihr) is a major sin and act of disbelief executed through demonic assistance. Seeking astrologers, soothsayers, or using counter-magic (nushrah) is strictly forbidden in Islam. Quranic verses and the authentic Mu'awwidhat completely dismantle all evil effects by Allah's permission.

Quran 7:117

وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ۝ فَوَقَعَ الْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ۝ فَغُلِبُوا هُنَالِكَ وَانقَلَبُوا صَاغِرِينَ

Translation (EN)

And We inspired to Moses, 'Throw your staff,' and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. So the truth was established, and that which they were doing was abolished. There the magicians were defeated and returned disgraced.

Quran 113:1

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ۝ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۝ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ۝ وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ۝ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

Translation (EN)

Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak From the evil of that which He created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, And from the evil of the blowers in knots, And from the evil of an envier when he envies.'

Quran 114:1

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ۝ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ۝ إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ ۝ مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ۝ الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ۝ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ

Translation (EN)

Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer - Who whispers into the breasts of mankind - From among the jinn and mankind.'

How to Perform / When to Recite

1) In wudu, recite Surah Al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, Surah Al-A'raf (7:117-119), Surah Yunus (10:81-82), Surah Ta-Ha (20:69), and the 3 Quls over a vessel of clean water or olive oil, blowing lightly into it. 2) Drink from the water and wash with it. 3) Maintain the morning and evening supplications daily with firm tawakkul in Allah alone.
