Ruqyah by Placing the Hand on Physical Pain
Explicitly established in Quran or Sahih Hadith as ruqyah/protection for this exact matter.
Companion Uthman ibn Abi Al-As complained of severe pain in his body. The Prophet ﷺ instructed him to place his hand on the painful spot and recite specific words. Uthman reported: 'Allah cured me completely' (Sahih Muslim 2202).
Sahih Muslim Sahih
Translation (EN)
(Place your hand where you feel pain and say 3 times:) 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah); and (say 7 times:) 'I seek refuge in Allah and in His Power from the evil of what I find and of what I fear.'
How to Perform / When to Recite
Place your right hand on the exact area of pain. Say clearly: 'Bismillah' 3 times. Then recite 7 times: 'A'oodhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir'. Continue your prescribed medical remedies.
Important Safety Note: Ruqyah is a means of seeking Allah's protection and healing; it does not replace medical care. Never hang amulets or go to fortune-tellers/sorcerers.
