Authentic Ruqyah for the Evil Eye (Ayn & Hasad)
Explicitly established in Quran or Sahih Hadith as ruqyah/protection for this exact matter.
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds - The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. It is You we worship and You we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path - The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak From the evil of that which He created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, And from the evil of the blowers in knots, And from the evil of an envier when he envies.'
Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer - Who whispers into the breasts of mankind - From among the jinn and mankind.'
In the Name of Allah I recite over you (ruqyah) to protect you from that which harms you, from the evil of every soul or the envious eye of a jealous person. May Allah cure you; in the Name of Allah I recite over you.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The evil eye is a fact, and if there were anything to outstrip the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. And when you are asked to wash (to cure someone afflicted), then wash.'
How to Perform / When to Recite
Sit before the afflicted person and recite Surah Al-Fatihah, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas. Then recite the supplication of Jibril: 'Bismillahi arqeeka, min kulli shay'in yu'dheeka...' and blow lightly over them. Always say 'Masha'Allah TabarakAllah' upon seeing good.
Important Safety Note: Ruqyah is a means of seeking Allah's protection and healing; it does not replace medical care. Never hang amulets or go to fortune-tellers/sorcerers.
